1964 "THUNDERBOLT" inspired Ford Fairlane 500 ***
This Ford Fairlane 500 has gotten the treatment, it's been repainted an "EYE POPPING" paint and the bumpers were re-chromed, all bright work and stainless moldings were polished to a new look. The red/white vinyl interior, headliner were replaced by the previous owner. He added NOS taillight lens with backup lights. And the 17" aluminum wheels and low-profile tires give it a modern stance without losing the classic muscle look.
The history on this car are just what you want when you buy a car, it's from the dry and snow and salt free Nevada area. This car is powered by a professionally built High Revving HIPO 275 HP (started with 289 2V base) The car built at Ford's Charlotte assembly plant. With it's Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, 4-bbl carburetor and 4-speed top loader transmission (org 3 speed column). And the fiberglass "Thunderbolt" hood uses the stock hinges. The clutch grabs in the right place and the tranny shifts smooth as butter. This is a perfect entry level car that will make everyone jealous, for sure.
It's also a Perfect candidate for an all out Thunder Bolt tribute drag car / show car this car has great bones and is great either way you go. This car will turn heads and light the tires up with no problems.
It's had a comprehensive restoration done approximately 10 years ago & still
shows great, but it is a 10 year old restoration. Chrome, brightwork & glass very good. Solid No#3 driver quality
& great entry level classic.
Currently we're adding the COBRA Dressup Kit and going over the car from front to back and will be adding more pictures as they become available.
The car has an original 69,500 and it really looks GREAT for an almost 50 year old car.
